Still need to pick out the airplane knitting....

A lot of what is on my 30 by 30 list will not be finished. I love how I went and make it ridiculously bike-happy a while ago. What was with that? But still, some things, important things, will be done. One of the big ones was going on a trip. So here I go.

I'm leaving my quaint place in Vancouver for five days...
and popping on over to New York City! (first time there so no pictures yet but look! My passport!) It started out as a trip to the Sheep and Wool Festival in Rhinebeck NY but with the help of my awesome friend Kat this trip has turned into so much more. We are going for pulled pork, going to stores where stuff is so expensive it doesn't have price tags, going to museum after museum after museum, West Village, free ferry rides to see the Statue of Liberty, Purl Soho, Mode, and, of course, we will find ourselves a NY pretzel to eat with mustard. I'm soooo excited.

I leave in two hours (yes, it's 1 in the morning, and no, I'm not done packing) but the essentials are finished with. I have my passport, I have loved the Hazel and read her some more stories,

I was trying to mohawk her hair and she was wondering why I was causing her such grief. Oh, and the orange guy in the back is this dude.
I've also got the most awesome roommate ever taking care of the kitties.
And I finished my Rhinebeck shawl. I thought I was doing soooo well when I just had the cast off row to do last night. Yeah, two and a half hours later... picot edging sucks.
But here I am, about to embark on my first grown-up trip, and yeah. I did ask the pharmacist if he had any ativan lying around that he could pass along (jerk said no) but it's all good. I'm so excited!

Many many many many many many many photos to come I'm sure.

Cheers all!
