The Ugly Cry

Well, I can't remember what I was going to blog about but it's all moot now.

I watched this movie.

It's a beautiful film. Everyone should watch it. Everyone should know this film. But just to let you know- this film broke my heart. I can't stop crying.

So now I am going to eat chocolate chips and play Sims. If that doesn't work I'm putting on Abba and watching Camp.

It's a wonderful film, isn't it? I remember being in India the first time Mehta tried to film it, and the sets were burned down by protesters. It took a few years and a move to Sri Lanka (as well as a full change of the cast, unfortunately -- it would have been even better with the original, I suspect) to get the film made.

There is such irony in watching a film like "Water" isn't there - that struggle with something we love which at the same time makes us extremely sad. I believe "bittersweet" is the most accurate way to describe it. Went to the blurb on "Camp" and I would definitely say that is a good one to balance things out - with the chips as well!. Love Mom
